Full job description

We require a skilled, motor vehicle technician to join our team.

We are a very busy independent garage.  We repair and service most makes of car and light commercials.

Trading for 50 years and have an extensive loyal customer base and currently hold the title of The British Independent Garage of the Year Award for Customer Service.

Our facilities are clean, well presented with up to date equipment and tooling.  Health and Safety is our priority and we are RMI audited twice a year.

The role includes service and repair of most makes/models of cars and light commercials, including clutches, timing belts, steering and suspension work, brakes and vehicle diagnostics and fault finding.  Completing internal documentation accurately you will work independently within the workshop team and report to the Workshop Controller

Requirements:

  • At least NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)

  • Ideally 10 years experience working on vehicles in a garage/workshop environment to a high level

  • VAG experience preferable but not essential

  • Competency in numeracy, literacy and IT. 

  • Honesty and integrity. 

  • Ability to work to deadlines and targets.  

  • Strong teamwork skills.

  • The ability to work independently and to assist others in their workshop roles

  • The ability to have input towards the workshop training program, for yourself and for colleagues

  • Confident, professional and polite communication skills and good personal presentation.  

  • Full and clean driving license. 

  • A positive outlook, particularly in viewing problems as a challenge to be overcome. 

  • Sense of humour
